Juris Cerins (1940-.) Australia

Biographical Information

Juris Cerins was born in Riga, Latvia 1940, and migrated to Australia with his family in 1949. He studied at RMIT Universirty and was awarded the Diploma of Art in 1967.

His works explore the Australian landscape, and this can be partly attributed to his experiences of the Australian bush around the migrant camp at Bathurst when he arrived in the country.

His first solo exhibition was in Melbourne in 1966, and his work is held in the collections of several provincial galleries.

He currently lives and works in the south-west coast of Victoria. Edit or add to this biography
