Biographical Information

Born in Kyneton, Victoria in 1894, Margaret Pestell is a watercolourist, known mainly for her landscapes and still lifes. She studied in Melbourne at the National Gallery of Victoria School and under Walter Withers, and later in Sydney under Will Ashton. Pestell exhibited in Melbourne and her work is represented at the Castlemaine Art Gallery and Historical Museum. She died in 1984. Further Information: "More than just Gumtrees", by Juliet Peers.
