Biographical Information

Born in Melbourne in 1935 Max Lyle studied at Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology.

A teacher and sculptor he has exhibited widely and has received several commisions for public sculpture. His work is represented in state, provincial and private collections in Australia and overseas.

A definitive study of Max Lyle's sculpture will be published in monograph form authored by well known author Ken Scarlett. The book will be published by the artist and the Eastgate & Holst Gallery in 2013. Entitled 'Journeys with Sculpture', the book traces Lyle's sculpture over the past fifty years.
