Biographical Information

Born in Melbourne in 1926, Milton Moon studied in Brisbane. A ceramic artist and teacher, he worked in radio and television from 1948 to 1962. After seven years as a pottery instructor in Brisbane he was appointed head of the Ceramics Department at the South Australian School of Art. In 1976 he became a full time ceramacist. Moon, who held the first exhibition of his work in 1959, has exhibited in most Australian capital cities and overseas. He has won a number of art awards and his work is represented in the Australian National Collection, most state galleries and regional, institutional and private collections.
